Commercial Auto Insurance

From a single vehicle to the largest commercial fleets, MGA Insurance Group has the coverages you need. Commercial auto insurance provides protection against a broad range of hazards arising out of "autos" (as distinguished from "mobile equipment"), generally meaning automotive equipment designed for use on public roads.

Commercial auto insurance contains two coverages, Liability and Physical Damage. Others which are basic to business auto exposures, and added by endorsement, are Personal Injury Protection, Medical Payments and Uninsured Motorists. Each of these is briefly described below.

Liability Coverage

For whatever have been selected to be "covered autos," Commercial Auto Insurance protects those who are "insureds" from legal liability for bodily injury or property damage to others, caused by auto accidents. Further, the insurer agrees to defend insureds against all liability claims for which coverage is afforded.

Personal Injury Protection

Provides medical, disability and death benefits for persons injured in or by the insured’s vehicles, without regard to fault. Individual named insureds and their family members are also covered for injuries in or by the vehicles of others.

Medical Payments Coverage

This is a voluntary coverage which applies in a similar manner to PIP, supplementing those medical benefits, and covering for certain residual injury situations not included under PIP.

Unisured Motorists Coverage

This coverage supplements both PIP and Medical Payments to cover for additional amounts to which the injured person would be legally entitled to recover from another motorist who is uninsured for liability, or insured but with limits inadequate to cover for the damages suffered.

Physical Damage Coverages

Coverage for accidental damage to those designated as "covered autos," without regard to fault, is available through Physical Damage. A basic division provides for insuring against damage by:

(1) collision or overturn and/or (2) causes other than collision or overturn, which may be either "all-risk" (Comprehensive) or for named perils (Specified Causes of Loss).
