MGA Insurance Group is an insurance broker with offices in Lakewood Ranch, FL and Downtown Sarasota FL, that provides insurance solutions locally here in the Sarasota / Bradenton area and also nationwide for individuals, businesses, contractors and associations. MGA continues to thrive in a diverse and challenging economic environment. “We compete so well in the marketplace because we provide first-hand knowledge of the national, regional and local insurance trends that directly affect our clients,” states MGA founder and President Lou Marinaccio. While national in scope, MGA is a family-run business where wife Ann Marie serves as CFO and daughter Lori Ann as COO. “We are family; but more importantly, we come together in times of opportunity and at every crossroad because we are Team MGA,” comments Marinaccio.

Meet the MGA P&C Team

Al CarsonAl Carson

Mr. Carson is responsible for the financial reporting of the P&C division and coordinates with the CFO and department managers in developing and implementing new strategies and procedures to assure MGA remains an industry leader. Mr. Carson joined MGA in March 2009 and brings a 30-year public accounting background where he concentrated his practice in financial reporting, management advisory services and tax planning.

Ann Marie MarinaccioAnn Marie Marinaccio

Ann Marie Marinaccio is the CFO for MGA Insurance Group. Ann Marie’s interests focus on family, golf, and charitable activities.She received her BA Degree from Loyola University, MST from DePaul University and is also a CPA.  Previous work experiences include Tax Manager for Allstate Insurance Corporation and public accounting. A resident of Lakewood Ranch, she is married and has two grown children and two grandchildren.

Clara WaglerClara Wagler

Clara has been in the insurance industry since 1968 and joined MGA Insurance Group in 2002. She holds licenses in P&C and L&H insurance. She is currently a new business producer where she serves MGA clients with and unprecedented level of service and passion. Previously, she owned her own insurance agency in Bradenton for twenty-one years and was selected as Small Business Person of the year during that time by the Manatee County Chamber of Commerce. Clara is also very involved with the community and volunteering her time with various events. She would love to hear from you to analyze your insurance needs and help you with any of your personal or commercial insurance needs.

Debbie FriendDebbie Friend

Debbie joined MGA Insurance Group in 2006, bringing with her thirty years experience to all phases of insurance agency service and marketing workflows. In addition to acting as Division Manager, she serves as a board member to the Florida Users Group for Applied Systems Client Network and an active participant in the Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance. In her free time, Debbie enjoys reading, scuba diving and traveling.

Debbie WolbertDebbie Wolbert

Debbie joined MGA in December 2008 and processes applications for personal and commercial lines and issues requests for certificates and endorsements. Debbie moved to Sarasota in 2000 from Pittsburgh, PA. Prior to joining MGA, Debbie worked for a local auto dealership doing title work for 7 years. She is married with 2 sons and 2 grandchildren.

Helen Ledgerwoodhelen Ledgerwood

Helen Ledgerwood, native Texan, knows the value of living here in paradise…Lakewood Ranch, Florida.  Working with new neighbors, friends and business associates in the insurance business for almost three decades gives her the experience necessary to help folks transfer the risk of the unthinkable for their homes, auto’s and businesses.

MGA provides a fresh venue to continue to serve clients as they face potential loss of their assets from potential catastrophe as well as the ordinary “bumps” in the road.  Retirement after 27 years of agency ownership and management give Helen a wide base of knowledge and caring when working with the residents of Lakewood Ranch and surrounding areas.

She and Scott  live in Lakewood Ranch and look forward to visits from their children, Austin and Paige of Orlando and Ashley Ann of Atlanta.  Travel is a common denominator for this active bunch.  Helen and Scott met when she was an undergrad student at West Texas State University…and married before she completed her master’s degree from Southern Methodist University.

Helen LedgerwoodJason M. Nestlerode

Jason is responsible for personal lines customer service, underwriting for renewals and rewrites and assisting with new business. Jason, originally from Pennsylvania, graduated from the Clarion University of Pennsylvania in 2005 and moved to Florida in 2006, where he worked for a local homebuilder coordinating new home closings and was the assistant to the Director of Sales.  Jason has been with the MGA Property & Casualty department since 2007.

Lori Ann MarinaccioLori Ann Marinaccio

Lori Ann Marinaccio is the COO for MGA Insurance Group. She earned a BA Degree in Theatre Arts from Rollins College and a MA in Education from New York University.  Previous work experiences include Animal Programs Coordinator for Disney's Animal Kingdom and Stage Manager for Florida Studio Theatre.

Lou MarinaccioLou Marinaccio

Lou Marinaccio is the president and CEO of MGA Insurance Group. Working in the insurance field since the early 1980's, Lou is an industry veteran who continually adapts to the complex and ever-changing insurance business with great success.

A graduate from the University of Bridgeport with a degree in Finance, Lou studied at the University as an evening student, while simultaneously serving with the Connecticut National Guard, 242nd Engineer Battalion.

His introduction to the corporate world began with various assignments with the General Electric Company in Connecticut, including accounting leader and marketing specialist. GE eventually promoted Lou to Division Manager before he left in pursuit of entrepreneurial opportunities in the insurance industry with companies like Allstate and Prudential where he served in various senior management positions.

Lou was involved in the creation and development of the Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance, a dynamic advocacy group for the hundreds of small and large businesses throughout East Manatee County. Recently chosen as the LWRBA chair-elect, Lou served as the chairman for the 2008-2009 term. 

Mike MieleMichael J. Miele

Michael is a benefits and health insurance specialist with MGA Insurance Group. In this role Michael looks after and coordinates all aspects of individual and group benefits including Health insurance, life insurance and disability.

Michael is a qualified and licensed insurance agent and series 7 licensed Financial Advisor. He holds a bachelors degree in business and history for Seton Hall University.

Michael is no stranger to the insurance and financial industry, having spent more than 20 years as an insurance agent and financial advisor, which taught him the importance of customer service. Before joining MGA Insurance Group in 2006, Michael worked for 17 years for a diverse range of organizations, including large corporations, private sector and business startups. Michael belongs to several networking groups such as BNI, Lakewood Ranch business alliance and The Propeller club of port Manatee. He also belongs to the local chapters of Rotary and Kiwanis.

Mike MieleNancy Crapo

Mrs. Crapo is responsible for the renewal of commercial insurance policies and has a back-up role for many other positions within the office. She has more than thirty years experience in the insurance industry in both the company and the agency side of operations. Mrs. Crapo has worked in both personal and commercial lines.  Over the years she has held such positions such as Personal Lines Underwriter, Commercial Customer Service Representative, Commercial Underwriter, Work Comp Underwriter and Business Analyst on the company level and has been a Personal Lines Office Manager in an independent agency. She has been with MGA Property and Casualty insurance since 2007.

Ron ReaganRon Reagan

Representative Ronald “Ron” Reagan serves District 67 which is comprised of Sarasota, Manatee, and Hillsborough Counties. Representative Reagan has called the area his home for over 30 years and has raised all three of his children in the district. His children Ron Jr, Jill, and Katie have all attended their father’s alma mater, USF. Rep. Reagan’s district is currently one of the fastest growing areas in the state of Florida. This has led to Representative Reagan being on the forefront of changes to growth management and business regulation and election issues.

Raymmar "Ray" TiradoSuzanne Lightner

Suzanne has been with MGA since 2007 and is the Director of First Impressions. Suzanne is the voice you hear when you call in for our services. As our receptionist she will direct you to the most appropriate person and team member qualified to handle your insurance questions. Her skills also include assuring your policy data is accurate at renewal time to achieve quality details when we represent you to the carriers and claims departments. She has a background in banking and real estate.

Wendy ZegerWendy Zeger 

Wendy provides support to the team by analyzing the features of your home, to determine the ideal placement with one of our carriers.  Her experience working with our carriers ensure that you will receive the most comprehensive coverage at the most competitive rates.  In addition to homeowners, Wendy also works with our agents by rating flood and auto.
